“That’s the most beautiful bin in the world!”

My cousin was visiting me in London. I wasn’t allowed to have overnight guests in my room, but I managed to smuggle her into the room. I think it helps that we’re both Indian and young looking.

So, we decided on Sunday to visit Camden Market. It was one of those rare London days that the sun was out and it was warm. I kept hearing about Camden Market and how awesome it is. The market is huge, and it seemed like to went on for miles and miles. My estimate is that we only covered about a third of the market. The first place we went were the Stables Market which is the largest market. It used to be the main stable yard for London and that’s where my cousin exclaimed that the trash bin near the bathroom was the most beautiful bin in the world. I laughed so hard at that comment.

We also got lucky and found a nice spot in the market where we could get some good food and people watch. It was a Moroccan place where they had shisha and food. But they also had really nice pillows to lean on and relax.

Later, we went to the Camden Locks Market, near where there is a canal. There, we lounged by the canal. My cousin laid down but I did not feel comfortable because of the scary pigeons. She didn’t seem bothered and explained that they were helping “keep London clean” by picking up the rubbish left behind. That might be true, but they were still scary!

All in all, we spent almost eight hours at the market. I’ve never been to such a huge market in my life. One day, I hope to be back.
