Bricklane, East London
For most of my time here, I’ve been in West London. It’s known for it’s theatre district and high density of tourists. On Saturday night, I didn’t have much to do, so I called up a Polish friend of mine. She was heading to Liverpool Street and invited me out.
I don’t know much about Liverpool Street. I know that’s where the “City” is and that is where most office workers go. But, there is also a section called Bricklane. It used to be a very poor area, populated by Bangladeshis, but now, it’s where the hipster’s go to party. Except, I didn’t know that. So when my friend said we were going to chill out at a pub, I was expecting relaxed drinks. Instead, I was taken to Bricklane, which was a street packed with clubs and all sort of hipster/punk people hanging out. It was fun to observe, but I always feel like an outsider at these places! But I did appreciate going to a different part of London.
