Treasure Chest
On Monday, I rushed back from Brussels in the morning and arrived with enough time to get to class. Somehow, class took all day. And since I had been up since 5am British time, I was exhausted. At the end of the day, the school had a reception. I met with a few friends and we decided to try a club in London.
We went to this place, which looked like a Tiki Bar. It was okay, but I had to pay a cover of 7pounds and then drinks set me back 12 pounds. It was not that much, in the grand scheme of things, but I know that there are cheaper places in the area! But the most notable drink, is called the “Treasure Chest,” meant for 8 people, and it claims to have a whole bottle of champagne in the drink. First, why would you waste a bottle of champagne in a mixed drink? Second, I would not pay $100 and this “drink” was 100 pounds! Luckily, we did not have enough people to share. But, I still did not get back until 1:30am, so the next day I was still tired!
Around 4pm on Tuesday, I got a call from my friend who was visiting London. We agreed to meet at Picadilly Circus at 5pm. From Picadilly Circus, we wandered over to Buckingham Palace. On the way, we stopped at a nice little market. After Buckingham Palace, we walked to Harrods. After checking out the foodhalls, we decided to try to get something to eat. My friend heard of a resturant in Leicester Square. Unfortunately, it was closed. So we went back to Covent Garden to eat. Once we were finished, we got a (free!) drink at the Brazillian club. There, we enjoyed a live show by a Brazillian band which had a lead woman singer. Overall, it was a pretty good day for a Tuesday! I had accidently seen all of London again in one day. But it really made it difficult to concentrate in class on Wednesday.
